“The last two years have been an absolute privilege to get to work with the lead instructor of The Circle to level up my skills as a Mix Engineer. The Circle gave me a structure and system to learn from and allowed me to find a new confidence in my skills. I had been mixing for a few years prior to working with the team, but since stepping into this program I have been able to work/learn on truly understanding the why behind the what while mixing.
When I was younger I lost 60% hearing in one ear. As one might guess, this created some challenges. Those challenges were met as the instructor and I worked one-on-one intently to expose those limits, create work-arounds, and showed me how to adapt to continue to mix at my best. I have since had opportunities to mix different services at multiple locations. I have stepped into mixing conferences, theatrical shows, as well as being a part of multiple campus builds to assist in bringing the “Awaken Sound” to those locations. If it wasn’t for a program like The Circle I would never have believed I was capable of so much.
